20th Century Fox has just released a new promotional image for “Dark Phoenix”, the latest addition to the X-Men franchise, showing Magneto – who looks like he’s been through a lot – with the rest of the superheroes team.
The character played by Micheal Fassbender is sitting on a wheelchair pushed by Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and standing close to them are Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Nightcrawler ( Kodi Smit-McPhee), Luna (Kota Eberhart) and Red Lotus (Andrew Stehlin).

“Dark Phoenix”, the follow-up to “X-Men: Apocalypse” (2016), focuses on Jean Grey’s transformation from “friend to foe” when during a rescue mission in outer space she is hit by an unknown cosmic force which makes her infinitely more powerful.
With the passing of time, she begins to lose control over her own body and mind, and the X-Men must unite to save her from the aliens who want to unleash her newly-found powers.
Among these aliens is the new character played by Jessica Chastain who appears to be a mix of many villains present in the comics.
The film is directed by Simon Kinberg who is also the producer along with Bryan Singer, Hutch Parker, Lauren Shuler Donner and Todd Hallowell. “Dark Phoenix” is backed by Marvel Entertainment, TSG Entertainment and Genre Films. The music for the film is composed by Hans Zimmer.
Other stars returning in the movie are Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and James McAvoy as Professor X.
The movie will be released on June 7th 2019.
The X-Men universe has two more movies lined up after “Dark Phoenix”. “The New Mutants” is set to hit the theatres in August this year and “Gambit” is set to release in 2020.
