The singer, Keith Urban, won the top award of the night “Entertainer of the year” at the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, winning over nominees Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, and Jason Aldean.
Back in November at CMA, he won the same prize.
As the singer went on stage to receive his awards, he faced a standing ovation from the audience which included his wife Nicole Kidman.
While the Aussie singer was giving his acceptance speech he thanked his wife Nicole Kidman.
He said, “Thank you so much. Baby Girl, I love you so much,”
He thanked all of his fans for their love and support, “My team, thank you every one of you,” he added. He also thanked his daughters, Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, 8.
In spite of facing nine nominations in this category since 2005, he has earned the title. Presently, he just finished wrapping up his Graffiti U World Tour.
While announcing the nominations on CBS McEntire said: “It does not make me very happy because we have got some very talented women working at their best.”
The last female entertainer to win this title was Taylor Swift back in 2012.
The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards was broadcasted live from Las Vegas on CBS at 8 p.m. ET on 7 April.
