Lousiana rapper Boosie BadAzz has been released from jail on bail after being arrested in Newnan, Georgia for felony drugs and firearm possession following a traffic stop.
The 36-years-old, whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr., was travelling in his Dodge Charger with his bodyguard, Antonio Allen, when he was found in possession of approximately 11 grams of marijuana by a police deputy in the parking lot of a restaurant in Newman, in the Atlanta metropolitan area on Monday.
A loaded 9mm gun was found under Boosie BadAzz seat alongside more than $20,000 in cash.
The Coweta County sheriff’s deputy confirmed he stopped the car after they noticed it was swerving and rushing erratically, and while talking to the owner, identified as Hatch, he could smell marijuana and decided to call for backups.
Boosie BadAzz and Allen, 30, were later taken to Coweta County Jail, where they were held until Tuesday when they were released after posting a $3,500 bail bond. No attorneys where listed.
While walking out of jail, Hatch said that the whole episode was “just a misunderstanding.”

This is not his first time Boosie BadAzz has been arrested on drug-related charges. As reported by The Associated Press, in 2011, he was sentenced to 8 years after he pled guilty of conspiring to smuggle drugs, including codeine and ecstasy, between two states.
