The final season of “Game of Thrones” is almost here and the hype is skyrocketing, with fans from all over the globe theorizing and taking wild guesses about what is going to happen in the finale.
Only the HBO crew and the cast know the truth, as the tv show is known to stray from the series of books by George R. R. Martin they are based on, “A Song Of Ice And Fire”.
Among those lucky people is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who tried very hard to keep the conversation spoiler free during his appearance on talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote “Game of Thrones” on Tuesday night.
The Danish actor, 48, who plays Jaime “The Kingslayer” Lannister on the show, jokingly dodged host Jimmy Kimmel’s questions and said the finale is “sad-isfying”.
The two then addressed some of the “wildest” fan theories that can be found on Game of Thrones fan pages and forums around the internet, such as Jaime ending up killing his twin sister and lover Cersei, the Starks being the direct descendants of the Night Walkers and Jon Snow becoming the Night King, to which the actor responded with a shocked “How?!”.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau also remembered the moment when he finished reading the script of this final season and was so struck that he decided to write to creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to congratulate them.
He wrote: “I really don’t know how you did it, but I can’t imagine a better way of ending this show.”
“Game of Thrones” is coming back on Sunday, April 14, 2019, on HBO.
