Avengers Endgame continues to break records and has finally managed to beat Avatar at the US/Canada box office reaching and surpassing $771 million.
The Marvel Superhero blockbuster is then the new second highest-grossing movie ever in the domestic market, it is, however, still trailing behind “Star Wars: The Force Awakens ” which sits in the number one position with its 937 million dollars.
Worldwide, Endgame has earned $2.62 billion, meaning it still has not surpassed the sci-fi colossal which made a whopping $2.78 billion dollars in 2009. It has, however, beat James Cameron’ s other success, Titanic, conquering the title of the second highest-grossing movie of all time in the global market.
It is important to mention that the latest entry in the MCU is still on in the cinemas so it might be able to break new records in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Avengers Endgame has been dethroned by the third installment in the John Wick series as the most seen movie of the weekend in the USA and in Canada.
While the movie represents the final installment of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 5 is already starting with Spiderman: Far From Home set to hit the big screen this July.
However, records are very likely to be broken again very soon as Disney has announced that they have in store 4 new Avatar movies which will be released starting from 2021.
